Meet Big Bit

Big Bit Emotional Support Animal

Bit Bit is my Emotional Support Cat (yes, she has an official certification!).

We inherited her from my Dad in 2021. She was a very shy cat when she moved into our house,

Since then, she has become a Daddy's girl who cautiously explores our home and interacts with our other two cats.

Big Bit takes her role as an ESA seriously. She is my constant companion no matter how I feel.

Alzheimer's is a brain disease that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior.

About

My name is Greg Rowland

Born in 1957, I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2025. My wife and I (and our three cats) relocated from Upstate South Carolina to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to be near Duke Health where I am being treated.

I receive Lecanemab infusions every two weeks. This is a long-term treatment, with the initial phase lasting 18 months.
